Web Hosting
Web Hosting plans allocate the Client’s website to one or more servers. Resources on these servers are shared among multiple customers.
Managed Support
Managed Support plans are monthly subscription services providing root/administrative access, along with Plesk or cPanel. ACTIVE COMPUTERS UK LIMITED performs core patching, security monitoring, and backups. Additional configurations or installations may incur extra fees.
Hosting Backup
Hosting Backup plans store website content weekly and databases daily. Storage limits may apply depending on the selected plan. Backup and restore services are included with certain hosting plans and may be available for other plans for an additional fee. Backup services provided as part of a Hosting subscription will terminate upon cancellation of the Hosting subscription.
Migration of Servers
The Client acknowledges that ACTIVE COMPUTERS UK LIMITED may migrate servers in the ordinary course of business. Even if a dedicated IP is provided, the Client may be assigned a different IP. ACTIVE COMPUTERS UK LIMITED does not guarantee retention of IP addresses.
Termination of Hosting Services
- Discontinue use of the Hosting Services;
- Relinquish IP addresses and server names assigned in connection with the Hosting Services;
- Redirect any associated DNS records away from ACTIVE COMPUTERS UK LIMITED servers.
The Client is solely responsible for transferring website or server content to an alternative provider prior to termination. ACTIVE COMPUTERS UK LIMITED will not transfer or FTP the Client’s content and will delete all content remaining on its servers after termination.
Free Products and Credits
Any free products or credits provided as part of the Hosting Services shall be revoked upon termination.
Licensed Images and Migration
Content licensed for use through ACTIVE COMPUTERS UK LIMITED is intended for use only by ACTIVE COMPUTERS UK LIMITED customers. If the Client exports or migrates such content to another service provider, the Client is solely responsible for maintaining rights to use it. ACTIVE COMPUTERS UK LIMITED provides no warranties or assumes responsibility for third-party claims arising from continued use post-migration or termination.
Storage Capacity and Security
- Maintaining independent backups of website and server content;
- Protecting the security, confidentiality, and integrity of all website and server content;
- Preventing any loss or damage to such content.
ACTIVE COMPUTERS UK LIMITED servers are not an archive. Hosting Services are not PCI or HIPAA compliant. The Client may not use the service in any way that impairs the operation of ACTIVE COMPUTERS UK LIMITED’s services or infrastructure, including as a repository for archived files or material downloadable via other websites. ACTIVE COMPUTERS UK LIMITED reserves the right to perform forensic examinations in the event of suspected compromise.
Website/Server Content
The Client is responsible for creating, updating, uploading, and maintaining all files, data, works, and materials on its website or server, including trademarks, images, software, and text. ACTIVE COMPUTERS UK LIMITED may modify, alter, or remove content when providing technical assistance. Website or server content includes any registered domains provided by the Client or registered on its behalf in connection with Hosting Services.
Third-Party Hosting Access
If access to a third-party hosting account is required, the Client represents and warrants that it is authorised to provide such access. The Client retains all contractual and legal responsibilities related to third-party accounts.
Third-Party Software Installation
- The Client has the right to use and install the software;
- All applicable licensing fees have been paid;
- The software does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
All web hosting plans are subject to limits on inodes, files, database tables, and storage per database. Exceeding these limits may result in warnings, suspension, or service restriction at ACTIVE COMPUTERS UK LIMITED’s discretion. Linux hosting accounts have additional limitations on CPU, RAM, website connections, processes, and disk I/O. Free trial hosting credits are further limited.
Inbound UDP is not supported in shared hosting environments.
Restricted Content: Clients may not host content including, but not limited to, image hosting scripts, file dump/mirror scripts, commercial streaming, push-button mail scripts, anonymous SMS gateways, Bittorrent trackers, or scripts degrading server performance.
Unlimited Plans: While some plans offer “unlimited” disk space or bandwidth, ACTIVE COMPUTERS UK LIMITED may restrict resources or require upgrades if usage threatens server stability or performance.
ManageWP: Hosting plans may provide access to ManageWP, subject to its terms of service.
Configuration Add-Ons: Certain add-ons (e.g., control panel, RAID, external firewall) may require third-party software or hardware and additional provisioning time. Installation may consume storage resources and limit compatible software versions. Cancellation of RAID requires server cancellation and purchase of a new server.
Plesk and cPanel: Use of Plesk or cPanel is governed by their respective End User License Agreements (EULA), incorporated by reference.
cPanel Fair Usage Policy: VPS and dedicated hosting with cPanel provide unlimited accounts; however, 100 accounts are considered reasonable use. Usage beyond this threshold may incur additional charges or account restrictions.
ACTIVE COMPUTERS UK LIMITED may, at its discretion, assist Clients in migrating third-party hosted websites to its servers. Hosting Migrations are a courtesy service with no guarantee regarding feasibility, timing, or completeness. The Client is responsible for verifying migrated content, updating DNS records, and maintaining backups. Hosting Migrations are unavailable for websites exceeding 10 GB or 100,000 files. ACTIVE COMPUTERS UK LIMITED is not liable for data loss or delays during migration.
Certain software, widgets, or applications (“Software”) may be developed, licensed, or owned by third parties. Use of Software may be subject to additional license agreements. The Client may use Software solely as part of the Hosting Services and may not remove or alter proprietary notices, reverse engineer, decompile, or distribute the Software except as permitted by law.
ACTIVE COMPUTERS UK LIMITED makes no warranties regarding third-party Software and disclaims liability for damages arising from its use. The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless ACTIVE COMPUTERS UK LIMITED from claims resulting from the Client’s use of third-party Software. Third-party providers are third-party beneficiaries for enforcement of these rights.
Hosting Services operate in Linux® and Windows® environments. Servers are provisioned with the Client’s chosen operating system.
